Boyu BT-02 Aquarium Thermometre
Aquarium temperature and specifically the sudden changes in temperature, are one of the most common causes of aquarium issues and sudden death. While you can’t easily see the difference, your fish can certainly feel it.
Every fish species has specific temperature requirements, so keep an eye on your aquarium with an accurate glass thermometer. Aquarium thermometers are a must-have accessory for any aquarium. The easy to read thermometers include a high-quality silicon suction cup to fasten it in the aquarium. Both models are mercury free for added safety.
All fish have an ideal temperature range where they will thrive. In most cases, your fish do not need an exact temperature and sitting with the “range” is fine. In the wild, there is no aquarium heater ensuring that the water temperature remains constant. Rain, hot summer days and cold winter nights all work together to ensure that fish in their natural environment do not experience the same temperature for too long.
Freshwater fish can experience large daily temperature changes because of normal environmental factors. Reef environments can also see temperature ranges of 20-32°Celsius.
Your aquarium, however, is not as tolerant as the natural environment. The small volumes of water in a contained aquarium system can quickly heat or cool based on ambient temperature. It is this rapid change in temperature that is the problem. So in your home aquarium, the goal is to maintain a water temperature that is within the preferred range of your fish, invertebrates, plants or corals.
Most tropical fish enjoy a temperature range between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius while cold water fish are generally happy with ambient room temperature in Australia.
